: : Since late January I have had bouts of "skipped heartbeats". I'm a 47 year old male, extremely good physical condition (competing inline skate racer).

: : I have no "distress" caused by these skipped beats, other than the physchological factor. When they are severe, they will come: 30 beats/Skip/60 beats/skip/15 beats/skip/90 beats/skip/60 beats skip. These can last
: : for 4-6 hours. Less severe episodes last somewhat longer, and skip about once/five minutes.

: : I recall having this twice before, when I was 23 and when I was 39. First time advised to give up a chocholate bar I was having daily, second time given a Holter moniter which when put on immediately "Cured" the skips, as NONE OCCURED during the week I had the moniter!

: : The first two episodes I recall some job stress. I'm doing some schooling right now, and living off of some (considerable) investment/savings. Don't really have to worry about "work" for 2-3 more years... Don't think the computer schooling I'm doing is that intense...

: : Have ELIMINATED Coffee, caffinated. Not decaf however.

: : Any thoughts? Suggestions?

: I must say that Mr. Doyle said a factual mouthful. I've been dealing with this for over 2years now and I'll be 33 this year. I've been very reluctant to start medication as the doctor basically said it's best to live with them if you can versus side effects of medicine. I totally and completely believe they are associated with gastro-intestinal conditions. Mine started after having wisdom teeth removed...coincidence or result?? Any how....hang in they and use message boards like these to maintain your sanity.

: God bless,

: Geno
