: : : Does anyone here have constant tightness in the chest, sometimse worse than others with shortness of breath? I woke up gasping for air during sleep and my left arm was numb. I used to work out almost eveyday and now I can barely walk from room to room without getting tired. Every once in a while my heart will flutter and I can feel it in my throat. What is going on? I don't have insurance although my doctor wants to run tests. Any advice?

: : I'm no Dr, but it could be anything from anxiety disorder to pinched nerve in the neck, some heart problems such as mitral valve prolapse can do that also. It wouldn't hurt to have it checked.

: I have another thought and that is see a doctor no matter the cost. Unless you want to die. Because it could be something very wrong and be fixable where you could live and have peace of mind.

I agree 100% that you should see a doctor no matter what the cost. I had tightness in my chest and shortness of breath and I have dilated cardiomyopathy (weakened heart) and I didn't know it and was never told I had it by any doctor. I only found out when I went to donate blood and was told I had an irregular heartbeat. Please go to a doctor and get a checkup. Diane Will
