: I would like someone to explain to me the difference between PVC's and PAC'S. I also notice that when I'm really mad or stressed that I get a feeling like a flutter or a skipped beat in my heart is this common with anxiety? Also when I'm going to sleep at night I get alot of palps and fast beating heart all most like when someone scares you and your heart beats fast, happens almost every night could this also be related to anxiety. I have had tests done and they said I would sometimes have a fast heartbeat 150, however that could be stress. EKG's and echo came out fine.
PVC as far as I know,is a premature ventricular
contraction. This means your heart "pumps" blood too quick into your body. Instead of waiting a certain time after it fills itself, it pumps the blood too early away.
The PAC is a premature auricular contraction. The heart atrium (antichamber of the heart, where the blood arrives before it comes into the ventricles) contracts too early as well. If they happen too often they do less harm to your heart than PVC's.
I have both. My heart almost never "speeds" up into a so called tachycardia. I have many records of my own heartbeats. If you want to hear how it sounds or talk more about it, you can mail me to
These things happen to me for example when I am anxious, but as well for no reason.
