The doctors say this is unusual because in order to treat his problem they have to put a pace maker in him and then treat him with beta blockers . He has heard some disturbing reports on the beta blockers and I would like to know if any one else has had side effects from taking them. He willalso be takeing ace inhibiters. Someone has told him it effects his sex drive and as well depression. Is this so? Doreen, my husband has had heart arrhythmia for several years, but had had no pacemaker. The medications he takes have most definately caused impotence. It has really been a problem for us. He is presently taking a calcium-channel blocker, VERAPAMIL, and is now having to take Viagra to have sexual intercourse. As far as depression, that has not been a problem. Only anxiety over the impotence. Wish I could have been more encouraging to you. Good Luck.
