Hi Erica. I am a healthy 27 year old and was just diagnosed today with both aortic valve insufficiency and mitral valve prolapse. I came to search the net for info and felt comforted to know that there is a forum we can utilize to share info and concerns. Unfortunately I do not have any helpful info and could actually stand to hear what others know. I have been a runner for 12 years and am now running better than ever. Now I am concerned that the mere knowledge of these problems will cause me to be afraid to run to the point of exhaustion. Any info anyone has would be helpful, as I feel as if my body is betraying me and I don't know what I can do to help it. Thanks! -Colleen : Does any one on this message board suffer from this condition? I was diagnosed several years back, and now also have mitral valve problems. : As of yet I am only faced with 1 once yearly visits to my pediatric cardiologist. For echocardiograph, electro cardiograph, and stress testing. In the near to distant fufture I will face repairment surgery for these problems but am wondering if any one has any information. : I am an active 17 year old teen, who loves children, : rollerblading, and many other activities. : Thanks.
: Erica
