: My husband has palpatataions and arithmia and a slow heart rate. The doctors say this is unusual because in order to treat his problem they have to put a pace maker in him and then treat him with beta blockers . He has heard some disturbing reports on the beta blockers and I would like to know if any one else has had side effects from taking them. He willalso be takeing ace inhibiters. Someone has told him it effects his sex drive and as well depression. Is this so?
REPLY This isn,t really answering your question it is to say that I saw a snatch of a t V programme just happened to turn it on and there was a heart op putting a pace maker in and the pace maker was placed near the armpit to be out of the way please note in the news there was a case of a pace maker battery running out and a person died because the heart stopped The T V programme said pacemaker battery should last 6 -8 yearsHope your husband comes through his operation well From Fliveya
