: My husband has palpatataions and arithmia and a slow heart rate. The doctors say this is unusual because in order to treat his problem they have to put a pace maker in him and then treat him with beta blockers . He has heard some disturbing reports on the beta blockers and I would like to know if any one else has had side effects from taking them. He willalso be takeing ace inhibiters. Someone has told him it effects his sex drive and as well depression. Is this so?
I took beta blockers for about 9 months (5mg zebeta and then 25mg Atenolol). I did notice a decrease in my sex drive when taking it. I did not experience depression, but did have issues with anxiety, that could've been from MVP/MVPS as opposed to the beta blocker.
