: : because I go into a fib again now I have developed heart block from the Amiodorone suprressing my
: : SA node, I have a congenital heart defect so it's to
: : the point know where my doctors are debating a pacemaker, which in my case would be an Epicardial pacemaker, one where the leads are attatched to the outside of the heart muscle, which will reqire open
: : heart surgery, I'm in a catch 22 They tryed Rythmol
: : but I could not tolerate it the doctors say Amiodorone is the best, but there is a fine line between too much nad too little. well just wanted to share this with all of you, anyone else have a simular experience?

: Dear Robin

: I have been off Amioderone since December. I started to have A fib again recently. I outright refused to go back on it due to the fact it made me very ill. Loss of appitite, nausea, and headaches, tremers etc. I am now taking Sotalol which I thought was weaker because the doctors told me the Amioderone was the best to be on but my sister found info. on Sotalol in which it said is is a class III (like amioderone) beta blocker. I have been on it for three months now and I was on it for 1 1/2 before including during my pregnancy. The only side effect I seem to be getting from it is very tiredness which you get from all beta blockers. The doctors said it should only last about 2-4 weeks at best. anyway I sometimes wonder if they think the Amioderone is the best because it also seems to be the most expensive. I sometimes think there might be a link to this, knowing there is other meds out there! Best of luck...Luanne

this is my first message, i found this web site and i am hoping it will be helpful. I started taking amiodorone 9 days ago. I already take tenormin for SVT, now I have PVC's. I guess we all have them, mine have become troublesome. I tried Rythmol, and it did not treat me well, nore did the Sotolol. It is hard to explain to people what exactly these drugs do to you, never mind the peculiarities that these two arrythmias cause. I do not know why, nor does my Dr seem to or cares not to explain, why all of a sudden people start with abnormal arrythmias, especially being blessed with two. Anyone know?
