: Does anyone know about long qt syndrome? What does it do?
Long QT is a condition when the heart beats abnormally fast due to irregular electrical system of the heart. It sounds a bit strange but it happens. The heart starts beating really fast, can't pump blood normally, then it leads several results including fainting, seizures, cardiac arrest. It can be hereditary but it can also be "acquired" by taking certain medication/drugs, mineral imbalance, malnutrition, damage to nervous system. Anyone who suspects long qt should see a doctor to get checked. It afflicts people in all age groups.
