: 43 year old married mom of 3, diagnosed with svts for past 8 yrs.taking toprol xl for past 4 yrs as it seems so far to be best treatment.Still have skipped beats and an occasional flare up that requires another toprol xl.If no response must go to ER.Treatment there is based upon the location of the irregularity.Sometimes I can sense an on-coming flare-up by the feeling of pressure in my diaphragm. Does this sound weird???Has anyone else out there experienced this.I've had holter monitors, stress tests and heart card monitoring.Nothing out of the ordinary is found that can lead to another course of treatment.Problem is I can go weeks with no irregularities and then have several a day.Is anyone else out there as frustrated as I??You never know where they are going to "hit", driving, shopping, church, just talking.Would like to talk with those of you who have same experiences and your courses of treatment.Take care and God bless.

Hello,
I too am very frustrated!! I have PAC's/PVC's and don't take any medication. I saw a cardiologist today and he said that its benign and that there are no medications ( in my case) that are real effective in treating these irregularities. In other words they will never go away! Why take a medication that won't eliminate them entirely? Besides I can't stand pharmeucuticals... too many side effects!!! I have come to the realization that I am not going to die, or that my heart is not going to stop!! Naturally this condition is anxiety producing. Like you mentioned it could happen anywhere..... and thats what so bothersome. I don't have panic attacks anymore because I'm so used to it, but its always in the back of my mind 24/7!!! I'm not sure exactly what you have, whether or not its the same thing as my condition. Perhaps you could explain it to me. All I know is that it seems that no one else in my social scene experiences this. They have no idea what I have to endure day in and day out. My only support of this condition is the internet. I try and keep myself informed being that I can't go to the doctor everytime I feel them.
I wish you well and write back.. God Bless you too!!!
