: My father-in-law had quad bypass surgery yesterday afternoon. The surgery was completed around 5:00 yesterday. He's not showing any positive signs of waking up, as of yet. Does anyone know if this is common? Btw, he's 67 y/o. The Dr. doesn't seem to be concerned. Reply i do so hope all will be well and by now all the worry will be over There are many who have had successful heart ops I suppose all recover at a different rate Maybe ,hopefully he is getting used to his unblocked arteries Perhaps it takes alittle time for the blood circulation to get back to normal Perhaps they will make sure more of his blood goes to his brain to wakehim up It is indeed dreadful when you go and see the patient in hospital with an oxygen mask on fighting for life Has he had an oxygen mask ??? I do so hope recovery will be soon but perhaps a slow start in coming round means a complete recovery in time = slow and steady wins the race from Fliveya (screen name)
