: Henry, was the ablation in the right atrium or left (pulmonary veins). What was name of Doctor?

:
: : I am a 46 year old healthy male who developed a serious case of Atrial Fibulation in July of 1998. I developed a virus which affected my heart in this manner, otherwise I had a healthy normal heart. I could not be kept in regular sinus rhythm for any longer than a month at a time inspite of taking 800 mg of Amiodarone daily. I underwent several cardioversions during this period. I finally underwent a Catheter Ablation in Vancouver Canada on August 30th/99. I am pleased to say that I have not had a problem with atrial fibulation since that time. I was gradually taken off of medication and have been drug free for over 3 months. I know that all cases are different, but for me a Catheter Ablation did the trick. I would be pleased to discuss my case with anyone thinking of this procedure.

Henry;

What is "Catheter Ablation"?

I am a 45 year old "twin". My brother experienced atrial fibulation about 3 years ago. He went to two Cardalogists and then one went in to try and
cautherize some nerve endings? However when they went in they realized there were too many, so he has since been on medication.

I experienced atrial fib on Feb 29, 2000, beating about 210-214/minute for about five hours in the emergency room. They
finally put me to sleep and shocked me to get back into normal. Went to a Cardalogist, went though a stress test, ekg,
blood test. Everything looked normal.

However, since that time I have had five more occurances, with the worst being last Saturday (5 hours before going to the
emergency room) and then this past Tuesday night for about 1 hour.

This was a different emergency room that I went to this last time. Again they ran an EKG, took x-ray's, blood samples
All looked normal.

Guess I need to know what to do next. If the "Catheter Ablation" is the cauderizing of nerve endings where
should I go to get some helpful advise.
