: My 15 year old son has been complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath. I was not very concerned until last night when he came to me crying because it hurt so bad. I took him to the ER and they said it was a muscle spasm in his chest. I believe it is more than that. He is very healthy, what could be the problem?

I am 21 years old and have the same type of symptoms twice now, with the latest occurrence
happening yesterday. The pain comes on very slowly, but builds up to an excrutiating tightness
in my chest and side. Both times that I have had this it occurred on the left side of my body.
The pain lasts from 1 to 2 hours and has the symptoms of a severe heart attack. I went to the
ER the first time, but by the time i was seen, the pain was lessening and eventually went away.
The doctor told me that it could have just been a muscle spasm, but i didnt have any tests
performed to find out for sure.

If you have found out any additional information, please do not hesitate to email me. I am planning
on going to the doctor soon to get a second opinion.
