: : Hi my name is Cindy and I too have fast heartbeat even though its not as extreme as some that I have read. Things that have noticeably bothered me are sugar, caffeine, too much salt, hot humid weather and stress. I thought I was the only one like this. My pulse is normally around 90 at rest but can get up to 150-200 when I have an episode. Normally lasts around 30 minutes up to 2 or 3 hours. I try to do deep breathing which helps, to sit quietly and try not to think about it too much. Does anyone think that calcium and magnesium are helpful?? thanks
I too have suffered with rapid heart beats mostly after I eat something sweet and at night. I can't have even the smallest amount of sugar or I wake up in the middle of the night with a rapid heart beat usually between 140 & 150. I was diagnosed as being hypoglycemic in which my blood sugar levels takes a surge up to well over 250 then dramatically drops to below 70 especially at night while sleeping. This seems to bring on the episodes of a fast heart rate. I was also diagnosed with the epstein-barr virus and had never had these episodes prior to this. I refuse to take any medication and am controlling through a diet similar to some with diabetes. Hope this helps.
