: I'm a 38 y/o female with MVP, cardiomyopathy, and last week learned I have V-Fib as well. I've had several heart related deaths at young ages in my family and it's very scary. My only option appears to be an ICD. If anyone can tell me anything about this surgery and the results, please do. What is the shock from the ICD like? Was the surgery a 'bad one'?
: I can't do anything that I love to do anymore and it's extremely depressing. Are there any support groups online? Thanks to you all in advance.

Hi My name is Dave and i had a complete cardiac arrest with V fib during intense exercise. I was revived by paramedics and they can't find anyting wrong with me physically. I had the ICD installed and it was about 45 minutes. As surgery goes, it's a piece of cake. I don't like having it and I do at the same time. It is on there monitoring me full time. If I do get a shock, then I needed it and it changes the entire equation for the rest of my life. This has been a horrible thing, but maybe the ICD will provide data to help figure out why I had the experience.

Life is like a box of chocolates.........
