I hope you are seeing your cardiologist regarding this. Blood Clots can be deadly! I get cramps in my legs as well but have always heard the opposite that you don't necessarily feel pain for clots. A friend of mine years ago died at 21 yrs of age in is sleep from a blood clot which he got a year after knee surgery. From what I understand there was no signs at all. I have also read low potassium levels (which can result from surgery) can cause cramps. I take potassium suppliments which seem to help the cramps. You can overdose in these suppliments as well, so use with caution or talk to your Doctor 1st. You can get a blood test for your pottasium level. Take this seriosly and have it checked out. Best of luck. Luanne

December 1999 I had a heart attack which resulted in a stent being inserted in the artery. Prior to this I had been having cramps in my left calf. Since this procedure I now have cramps in both calves when I walk with any speed. This is reducing my exercising to getting my heart better. It causes a problem when walking or biking. I have been told the cramps may result in blood clotting. "I'll know it when it happens" is the common statement. Does anyone been taken with a blood clot from cramps or knows anyone who has and what can I expect --- severe pain ? where, when, how just what??????
