: My friend's girlfriend sometimes faints sometimes without really apparent reason. I was told this is a heart conditions. Is there something like that in a heart condition that makes you faint without warnings?
It could be a heart condition, but there can also be many other reasons behind fainting, its always best to check though in case the fainting is heart related.
There is a heart disorder called the Long QT Syndrome which has fainting as a symptom, my children have this and the fainting has been under control since being taken care of with beta blocker and a pacemaker for it.
The fainting can start at any time during life but is most common in teenage years, Long QT Syndrome is a genetic condition so all family should be tested if it is diagnosed in any family member, even those without symptoms should be tested.
Good luck. :)
