: HELLO. I AM 25 YEARS OLD AND VERY OVERWEIGHT WITH BORDERLINE B/P ON TOPROL XL AND IT HAS IT CONTROLLED.BUT I HAD A ECHO DONE LAST YEAR AND THE CARDIOLOGIST SAID MY HEARTWAS SLIGHTLY ENLARGED.SO I HAD ANOTHER ONE DONE THIS YEAR AND IT WAS THE SAME THING. HE TELLS ME NOT TO WORRY JUST LOOSE WEIGHT AND QUIT SMOKING WHICH I AM TRYING TO DO, BUT I AM SO SCARED.. HE SAID I DID NOT HAVE TO COME BACK TO HIM ONLY TO FOLLOWUP WIYH MY DOC.SO DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I AM VERY SCARED.
The Dr. is right. QUIT SMOKING AND LOSE WEIGHT!!!! It will only get worse with age. If your cardiac status is like the in your 20's what will it be like in your 40's? You'll end up with congestive heart failure and low EF's. Do it for your own good.
