I have been diagnosed with Prinzmetal's angina, which is being treated with Inderal, Procardia, a .4 mg nitroglycerin patch, and during episodes of pain, sublingual nitro tabs. Treatment has worked to the point that the episodes of pain and shortness of breath are less frequent, but it has not made them cease. Symptoms range from and occasional 'twinge' lasting a few seconds, to crushing pain which lasts for hours. How concerned should I be? Can this be fatal? How do I know when it is serious enough to go to a hospital? It can be scary!!
