: Following my single CABG I had staph infection in my chest wound. I had to have my breastbone removed due to the infection. Is there anyone with similar experience? Thanks Micki
Reply. I'm very sorry to hear about your infection. It sounds severe. Did you they dx it in the hospital or long after? I developed an infected eruption on my sternal incision 6 weeks after surgery and after having conservative tx x4wks, the surgeon re-opened a portion, removed a sternal wire, and put me on Keflex x3 wks. Luckily the culture didn't grow much. I highly rec a wound care clinic for healing of your wound. My scar is worse now but the wound is healed.
