: : You may want to get this checked out, but it sounds like you had a surge of adrenalin. I have MVP ant his happens to me sometimes...just out of the blue my heart will start racing & pounding. At one point I was told I have an overactive adrenal gland so I figure I'm producing adrenalin when I don't need to. Eliminate caffiene and minimize you sugar intake too.

Even without the caffeine & limited sugar, I'll still have some episodes. I was taking atenolol which
lowered my heart rate but I would still have an episode sometimes. I'm not taking any medication
now and sometimes I will have an episode, but not offend. I do take an atenolol when this happens
if I doesn't slow down.
