: hello i was wondering if this was normal.....while i am sitting or standing still i can feel my heart beating throughout my body it isnt really a pound its just like i can count my beats without checking my pulse....i went to see a cardiologist and he done a echo and said i had a slightly enlarged heart but told me not to worry just loose weight....does anybody else do this???/ please help ease my mind!!!!! Crystal, You're not alone; I've had that ability for some time. A doctor once referred to that as heightened body awareness. You're probably aware that once your attention is somewhere else, or you're distracted by something else, you lose that ability to feel your heart pound/beat. That's because you're not concentrating on it's presence. I don't think your cardiologist would steer you wrong but always ask bunches of questions of these people until you get piece of mind. JOHN
