: I had an EKG to check out my hearts electrical system and everything was fine. The doctor also checked my blood pressure, rate and everything.Although I get intense skipping attacks when I do physical activity, its ruining my life. I dont know if gradual exercise will cure this disorder or make it worse.I feel this will cut my life short. Theres no pain whatsoever from the skips, but it really freaks me out and couldn't run a few blocks without out it happening. Oh yeah I'm only eighteen.
were you checked specifically for the heart condition called the Long QT Syndrome?
If you feel that you are having symptoms during exercise this way it might be worth asking to be checked for this condition, because sports and exercise can be a trigger with Long QT Syndrome, and does seem to affect the very fit healthy athletic type of person sometimes without any warning. Not all doctors look for this because of it being thought to be very rare, but it is being diagnosed much more frequently as the awareness is spread.
