: Matthew,my heart is totally dependant on my pacemaker to keep it beating, without it,I would die.The top chambers of my heart(atria) are longer able to beat, they quiver which throws out bloodclots,I take Coumadin to prevent them.My heart as a whole is slowly shutting down, and I will need a transplant in the foreseeable future. My heart is enlarged and some valves are leaking because of this enlargement.I am taking lots of meds in hopes of trying to keep my heart longer as there aren't enuf donor hearts.I have already had 2 cardiac arrests & this is my third pacemaker. There is lots more to my story but it would take too long to explain.Maybe the skipped beats you are having aren't serious, but why take a chance?I think it is better to be safe than sorry. my screen name reflects my journey,(lookn4aheart)good luck,Suzy

Suzy, thank you so much for sharing bit of your story with me. I'll definitely take your advice and go see what my doctor would say. I'm sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble. It's unfair how some people are just chosen to have a difficult life. Like my friend's father, got diabetes after getting a career going and family started, he couldn't work as a carpenter anymore. I really hope that you find your heart and soon. Best wishes.
