: I read an article today about more public places having defibrillators and more places are urged to equip them and train their staff. Apparently a lot of casinos have them now and so do most airliners. As someone with long qt syndrome this is good news for me. I always make sure I have my meds with me when I travel but knowing that the flight attendants can come to my rescue if something were to happen (god forbid) to me or anyone else with a heart condition, is a relieving thought. Interestingly, the article noted that in a test study a sixth grader could operate the device almost as well as the paramedics. That kind of put a smile on my face as I pictured seeing a child's face as I come to. I guess that just a sign of the advanced technology today. Well, I hope this news brings a bit of relief for some of you. I agree, this is very good news to learn of. I think it would also an excellent idea for teachers to have at school and for school excursions and camps for students with this condition also, I have three at school with a pacemaker and its a big worry to allow them to attend camps or long excursions, thanks for sharing this welcome news.
