: It has been documented that I have atrial fibrillation. My doctor wants to put me on either Betapace or Rythmol to correct this condition. As I understand it, the initial doseage of these drugs requires a 48 hour stay in the hospital for monitoring as they can potentially can have a life threatening effect on the heart. Does anyone have any experience with taking these drugs, know the side effects, or know of any other alternative to correct the AF???
I have been taking Rythmol for about three years for AF. I have had a total of two episodes in that time. Both times, I converted back within 10 minutes. It has helped me out quite a bit. Gunch
