: I'm a 41f and just fuund out that I have severe regurgition of the mitral valve. So far I'm taking Antelnol and Accupril. From what I've read. This condition doesn't get better on its own. So far my heart is still a normal size. anyone have any good linis or info on the subject. What should I not do with these symtoms.. I have an appoint in 10 days they don't tell me alot. Maybe I will need an angiogramm to determine my heart pressure. And possible repair of the valve.
I found out I had the same problem in June of this year. After seeing my cardiologist, and much testing, I had my mitral valve repaired by Dr. Kron in Charlottesville, VA. He is great. The surgery is not near as bad as it sounds. I am 44 and after 4 weeks I was back at work. It has been 8 weeks since my surgery now, and although I am still recovering, thanks to God, I'm doing fine.Good Luck with your valve and God Bless.
