Recently, I had a pacemaker with two new leads implanted. The leads previously implanted were not working correctly. I now have 4 leads in place. I want to know the risk of having the two old leads removed. Would it be safer to leave the leads in place? What about the risk of blood clots? Is there new technology that reduces the chance of pulling a chunk of my heart muscle out while pulling the leads?
Thanks for any information or advice you may offer me.
