It depends on the type of palpitations (SVT, PAT, etc...) in addition to the severity of the episodes. I went from 17 to 30 with palpitations, took medication (Atenolol/betablocker) for three of those years and had a successful ablation on 11/1/00. Feel free to email me with questions at JFNYC@aol.com. : : : : I am 40 and was recently diagnosed. Does anyone have this, and what are you doing to deter the palpitations? : : : I have gone off all caffeine, but don't know what else to do. I am told I should get ablation radiotherapy, yet I only had one episode and this seems so hasty. : : : Has anyone had ablation? I am interested to hear about it from the patient's perspective. : : : thank you.
