: i recently found out that i have chronic hep. b and i was told that i am fine for now and should have checkups etc. i had very brief (maybe a few penetrations) unprotected sex with someone and i am wondering how big the risk is of her getting hep. b from me. what are the symptoms and how soon do the symptoms occur? is it true that most adults recover easily from hep b? i don't know how worried i should be and i certainly can not tell this to her.
The risk is great enough that she should be told and tested. You have an obligation to protect her health. Perhaps your local public health department can assist you.
