I was diagnosed with Hepatitus B three years ago. I knew absolutely nothing about the disease. My doctor advised me to get lots of rest and not drink any alcohol during my illness. I was able to throw off all the symptoms (painful and swollen joints, a rash on my legs, itching skin, some nausea, and finally jaundice) without any treatment at all. The illness, from start to finish lasted 2 - 3 months. My doctor ran periodic liver function tests. Once those were normal, he did an antigen test. He told me that it showed I was not a carrier, although the fact that I had had Hepatitus B would always show up in a blood test. For three years, I have gone about my normal life. I drink alcohol socially, and on occasion drink 3 drinks or more. Yesterday, after several strenuous days on my feet in the heat at a volunteer job I do, I discovered something on my legs that looks exactly like the rash I had then. It stops exactly at my sock line, so I am hoping it is heat from friction from my bluejeans. It is on both inner calves for a couple of inches above my socks and sort of burns. Am I just scared and paranoid? I had been to a kickoff party for the charity I am working on, and had indulged in several drinks. Can this disease come back?
