I will try to answer your questions, but first I need to have you clarify what it is that you are asking.

What do you mean by type3? Do you mean Hepatitis C, genotype 3 or is there something else?
Autoimmune hepatitis can be treaterd with steroids, but if you have Hepatitis C, you should NOT be treated with prednisone (for example)

A fatty liver is where the liver accumumlates fats in the liver (turning the liver yellow) instead of metabolizing them properly. Many with other hepatitis types also have a fatty liver (NASH) and it is a something that needs to be assessed carefully.

There are several treatments for hepatitis C and it takes a thorough evaluation to determine which one is the right one for the presentation of your particular profile. It is not a one-size-fits-all answer.

You need to sit with your doctor and get a better sense of your situation. I advise taking a friend who can take notes for you. You might also chack out the links on our website for further research and information.

I hope this helps,

thanbey

What is the difference between hep3,autominnune hep 3, and where does fatty liver fit in? It appears in reading the messages here that autoimmune is treated with steroids while hep3 is treated with interfuron and riboviron--how come? thanks
