Posted by Kelly on November 21, 2000 at 21:50:24: Hello, I am looking for any information on hepatitis in children I can get. My daughter became ill (classic hep A symptoms) including jaundice which I read is rare in children. Her blood tests came back negative for hep A B and C, and further testing was done to look for a virus that may have causes it, but no viruses have been diagnosed. Her liver functions were sky high for almost two weeks, now they are near normal again but not completely. Her pediatrician wants to see her again in 6 to 8 weeks I am assuming to see if this acute hepatitis has permanently affected her liver. My question is, what could have caused this? What is it if it is not A B or C, and is she at risk for relapse? She also had an ultrsound and it thankfully was negative for cancer. Any help/advice would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks in Advance, Kelly
