: Good choice Pat I started treatment last Dec 2 1998 by end of Feb I was fired from my job.I sat for the next 4 months depressed in my house sick. constantly aching and sore unable to concentrate. It has driven deep wounds between me and my parents not understanding the side affects, they couldnt understand why i wasnt working and never left my house we hardly talk at all now.I have tried to get back to work and all though I feel wonderful now when a prospective employer asked why I left my last job,I am obligated by social security laws to tell the whole truth and I never get any call backs.I havent been able to get a job in 5 months and hundreds of resumes later if i lie I can lose my SS benefits.I have wasted all my Savings paying my mortgage and bills. All this for an experimental drug that seldom works. If I had known then what I know now I would have never have done the biopsy or treatment and would be doing much bette
IT IS ILLEGAL TO BE FIRED DUE TO THIS ILLNESS. I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR THIS. WHEN YOU WENT FOR YOUR SS BENEFITS I'M SURPRISED THEY DIDN'T TELL YOU THIS. THANK GOD MY WORK IS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND WITH ANY TREATMENT IT AFFECTS EVERYONE DIFFERENT. I'V BEEN ON 4 MONTHS AND GOT GOOD NEWS THAT I'M IN REMISSION NOW BUT I WOULD HAVE TO DO CAREFUL CONSIDERATION IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. IT'S NO PICNIC THAT'S FOR SURE. GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND KEEP IN TOUCH.
