: How accurate are the tests that hospitals send out to check for hep.c?I have had two test now ordered from two doctors a year apart both came back negative.I can't seem to stop worrying if the tests were wrong can I stop worrying are the blood tests reliable. Dear Lisa,
The most definitive test to check whether a person has a case of HCV in which the virus is actively replicating is the Roche Amplicore PCR-RNA. Warning: it is expensive and it is expensive, but it is the last word on the testing subject (so to speak). It is expected to be approved by the FDA. I hope this helps, thanbey www.hcop.org
