: hi,

: I have heard that Hepatitus b can cause autism and asburgers disease in children. I know that if this is a risk, I would rather my child not be vaccinated. But why must children get vaccinated? Isn't hepatitus B a sexually transmitted disease, if it is, why do children have to be vaccinated?

: I'd really appreciate a response.

Yes, this is a sexually transmitted disease however, you can contract HBV through other means saliva, blood transfusions, and another child could bite your child and your child could be exposed to the disease, but the most common way of catching HBV is through STD. Well, I hope I was a little helpful.
