I was DXed with herpes years ago.
My husband was the carrier and we both knew it was from a sexual encounter from his past.
I was very angry for awhile, but I chose to marry him so got over it. Why change partners and spread it around even more, anyway.

The first sores were excruciating!!!!
But I had a baby, and some A & D Ointment I had used for diaper rash. In desparation, I used the ointment on the next outbreak I had of herpes.
I washed and dried the area, and applied the ointment. It soothed the burning and kept the area clean and protected, and lo and behold, in a matter of a day or so the sores disappeared.

I learned to recognize an outbreak when barely surfacing, washed and applied the ointment, and it has been many years that I have not had serious pain again.
My daughter also contracted herpes from promiscuity, and I taught her how to handle the disease, which works for her too. I tell anyone that admits they have herpes, and it works everytime!

I have never taken any other medications or treatments. I hope this helps someone, as I know how terrible the lesions can feel.
