: When I first found out that I had herpies, I was in denial. I was devastated and I was afraid of what it would do to my future sex life.(do to the fact that I am not married)I tried to learn as much as possible about the STD. My outbreak was in a weird place... My right cheek( my butt) At first I thought, a toliet seat? but my doctor said impossible. Then I remember my x of 11 years would get these fever blisters on his lips and was not shy about kissing or anything with the blister outbreak.I do recall several times when he has put his lips on my behind and of course that is where it came from. One thing I would never let him do was to put his lips below when he an outbreak on his lip. Now when I have an outbreak I know in advance when it is coming and I protect that area. Yes I use the cream and take the pills but I always cover that bump with a bandage. If I engage during an outbreak and my partner ask about the bandage I will explain I have a bump. That is exactly what I call it, a bump that cannot be touched. Depending on the seriousness of our relationship to whether or not I tell exactly what it is.But not once have I lost a relationship due to that bump on my butt. I didn't think my life would ever be the same when I first found out. Now, I forget that I have it until I have an outbreak and then at that point I do what I have to do for those few days and live my life as I did before I found out I had it.
I don't want to bum your trip but the fact is that the virus is in your body. It is possible that you have it other places on your body from self spreading and not knowing or no symptoms. It probably definately helps but just by covering your bump does not guarentee that you are not putting your partner at risk. Moist contact even skin to skin contact can easily spread the tiny little virus... Thats why so many people have it and not know it. Like the girl I got it from.
