: : :thank you for your time everyone...apreciate it tremendously!!
: : Yes it is possible to contact it over and over again as there is believed to be different strains of it and it will be a new place for it to break out the next time it comes. So wear protection and don't have oral sex with anyone who remotely has a pimple, rash, or red spot. Check these things out with your potential partners as it is your life we are dealing with.
: That's pretty much what I would have said. :)
: You say you have simplex 1 on or around your penis...If you have simplex 1 and your partner gives you oral sex and contracts it orally and then transfers it back to you, as I understand it herpes can mutate as it transfers back and forth. I have no idea how true that is (in fact, I could totally be speaking out of my ass, to quote Hamlet), a doc could give you a clearer answer. There are different strains (simplex 1 and 2, and there are rumors of a third) which all act differently in the body. To second what Magie said, be careful, wear a condom to be safe, and be careful about sex if you are having an outbreak (if you choose to engage in sexual activity at all during these periods).
: And just as an aside, especially since you are newly diagnosed, go to your nearest health clinic. They are totally confidential, inexpensive (charging on a sliding scale based on income), and they usually have a great deal more information about STD's (with no judgemental blahing on at you) than a generic doctor. My clinic even got me started down a homeopathic treatment path I never would have even heard about from my regular physician.
: Good luck.
