Herpes is a strange thing. You could be carrying it for years and years and never have a single outward symptom, or you could catch it and have symptoms within 24 hours. So I can't give you any helpful advice there...however, with the symptom you present, that doesn't sound like herpes. Generally the first sore will look like a red bump and then will blister or break and be painful. What you are describing sounds almost like a blood blister. But keep an eye on it.
If you are worried, go see your doc. Or if you don't feel comfortable talking to your doctor, go to your nearest health clinic. They can be really valuable resources when it comes to all matters sexual.
