You could be carrying it for years and years and never have a single outward symptom, or you could catch it and have symptoms within 24 hours. So I can't give you any helpful advice there...however, with the symptom you present, that doesn't sound like herpes. Generally the first sore will look like a red bump and then will blister or break and be painful. What you are describing sounds almost like a blood blister. But keep an eye on it. : If you are worried, go see your doc. Or if you don't feel comfortable talking to your doctor, go to your nearest health clinic.
