Hi K. :)
I'm not a doctor, but I am a woman who is prone to yeast infections and I also have herpes. So, from that lovely background, it sounds to me like you have a typical yeast infection. Usually with herpes your tissues may swell a little and then the bumps/blisters will appear within 24 to 48 hour period. That isn't written in stone of course, but it's pretty typical.
You sound like you have a yeast infection to me, with the symptoms you present (swollen tissue, redness, minor itching)...although yeast infections can present themselves in a lot of different ways. For about a year, I had yeast infections on and off, and the major signs changed every time. And suprised my gyn even. Yeast usually presents itself with thick discharge, itching, and the "butterfly" redness. I however got only the redness (called butterfly because you have redness which may or may not itch that is centrally located around the vaginal opening with wing like redness spreading outward on your thighs). But when tested, the gyn said I was chock full of white blood cells (which is what yeast looks like under a microscope). The pregnancy may be throwing off the other signs. It takes a few minutes to call your doc and find out what you need to do...and while you are on the phone, definitely ask if you can take acidophillus pills orally to help balance out the yeast. Because you are pregnant, you should ask before taking anything, either herbal or prescription.
Yeast and herpes don't usually look the same, but that pain you are feeling accompanys the yeast as well as could be a sign of herpes (although I don't think you are having an outbreak).
Yogurt with active acidophilis, bulgaris, and bifudus (not sure of the spelling) cultures in it will also help alieviate your symptoms, if taken in conjunction with your doc's prescribed medication (or whatever he gives you). And you can eat yogurt without worrying about affecting the baby. Eat lots of it. It really does help. But ask your doctor what else you can do. You absolutely don't want to go into labor while having a yeast infection (or a herpes outbreak) if you can help it.
So...um...if it wasn't clear: go see your doctor. The best thing you can do for yourself and your baby is to just get it cleared up, and it will be easier than you think. And after that, read up on herpes and yeast both. Being informed about your body empowers you to take control of it...and it cuts down on the fears and misunderstandings you may have in the future.
Good luck!!
