Sometimes just the rubbing on the area where you nornally breakout will cause a breakout as it is like friction from the pad rubbing so apply a cream to that area a soon as you start your period. There is a precription cream or if you go back through FD messages she has a cream that is out of natural ingredients that may help to stop the breakout or help stop the friction. Herpes isn't known to leave a scar but seeing you are scratching it ..it may well leave a scar because of the scratching. The herpes virus you will never get rid of but will learn to live with it as we all do. As there is no known cure as of yet. The next time you have a breakout go to your nearest health clinic and have a test done . Don't worry about your period they have seen it all. Then you will know for sure. Good luck

: I seem to get this every month during my period,
: i don't know if it's the irratation of the pads, or not, but my private area becomes really itchy, i'll scratch and scratch and bumps appear, is this herpes?
: it's red, and it hurts when i touch it, after it goes away it's like a scar i can feel it, if it is herpes. what can i do to get rid of it? any cream? or will i have this virus for life?
