Brad -
I know how you feel about drug companies. I know that if people would simply get profits out of the way, there would be a cure for this as we speak. I know you're angry and embarassed. But what are you going to do, curl up and die? At least you got something that isn't going to end your life painfully. You can still live, and walk, and enjoy everything that alot of people CAN'T. You got lucky, my friend, At least, that's how I look at it.
Yeah - sometimes I get angry too. Sometimes I feel like I was cheated. Then I remember that I'm going to be able to live the rest of my life, exactly as I want it to be. My worst nightmare? I'll really want a blowjob and I'll have to wait a week or 2 or 3 or whatever before I can have one. That's it. That's as bad as it gets. Nothing compared to the people sitting in Hospice Centers that can't even wipe their own asses they're so sick with AIDS, or cancer, or whatever. The people that will never see another sunrise, or the full moon, or a million other things I can think of.......
Now on to the original subject - I had my prescription switched to Valtrex, and we'll see what that does. I also started taking L-Lysine, 2000mg/day. I will post soon with results on what I feel helps, and does not help.
I CAN tell anyone thinking of trying a product called Choraphor that is a complete failure. Well, near complete anyway. It hurts like HELL, this blue liquid that you put on an open sore. And it does in fact make it scab (indicating the death of the virus in that sopt...), but I've found that it hasn't slowed or stopped the oubreak, as it claims to do.
Oh and Brad - Keep your head up. Don't pretend that drug companies control pure research. Many, many universities and independent firms drive medical research. If you haven't heard, there is a vaccine for HSV-II, but it seemingly only works in women. Us guys won't be far behind. Especially with the human gene sequence decoded. In the next 2-5years, we're going to have some really new cool drugs out there that will cure ALL kinds of things. Herpes may be one of them.....maybe not. Guess what? You'll still be alive to see it all.....why...?....cause what you have WILL NOT TAKE YOUR LIFE......so enjoy it, cause you only get one.
