Your friend has already gotten over the first hurdle in telling you about it. The next is learning to relax. The more he's concerned about his inability, the worse it will become. Don't feel insulted if he can't perform. This function is not as automatic as we would like it to be and the mental baggage that comes with herpes makes it worse. It may help if both of you learn as much as you can about herpes. There is a lot of information on this forum. Click on the link below for some medical opinion.
