herpes-abusive relationship-help!

I feel the same as some of you about dating. It
wouldn't be as big a deal for me if it wasn't contagous.
Here's the thing: I contracted herpes in a
relationship that was physically, emotionally, and
sexually abusive. This man had sex with me DURING AN
OUTBREAK. It was dark, and I didn't find out until
after the fact. I might have gotten it from assymptomatic
shedding, but probably not (the timing before the first
episode matched up and I wasn't with him very
long). I've heard one has to seperate out having it from
how one got it, but I can't seem to. With every episode
I have just another very special (sarcasm intended)
reminder of him. How can I heal? Will I ever have an
outbreak without also feeling the pain of how I got it and
thinking of who I got it from?
