Yes and no. It's probably safe almost all of the time but, according to a new study, you won't know when it's not safe. See the link under "bad news" posted below. If this is a "forever" relationship he probably wouldn't suffer much if he got it but if it's not, he could pass it on to other women, for whom it can be a much more serious and painful condition.
