Need someone's opinion

I have been seeing my bf for around 9 months now. He told me up front that he had herpes and I accepted this for the accident it was and not a flaw on his part. Things were great for the first few months but as each month passes by, the fequency is becoming less and less. He recently told me that he doesn't have much interest in sex but did in the beginning because it had been a long period in between partners. Is it possible that he is not that interested in sex due to the herpes? We are carefull and I have not contracted it so I have little experience in this matter. I would love to hear the opinions of others that may have gone through a similar experience. Thanks.
