I don't think it's really a matter of getting right with God. I think it has more to do with believing in a non-punishing God. Many people with herpes believe that God is punishing them for their sexual behaviors. I personally can say that if you ask God for forgiveness then He will forgive you. But you have to believe that you've been forgiven. You also need to analyze why this happened to you...all things are blessings...even when they don't seem like it. Find the blessing in your herpes status..there is one, it's just a matter of you finding it.
Remember, you are a PERFECT child of God and you are eternally healthy. There is no such thing as illness...dis-ease is just a result of a lack of love (read 'A Return To Love' by Marianne Williamson). True healing comes when we realize that our bodies are not who we are! Are souls are who we are, and our souls are always healthy and in tact.
As far as remedies for herpes outbreaks...well I haven't had an outbreak in probably a year (and I've only been diagnosed 2 years). I used to take large dosis of vitamin-c tablets (over the counter) and that would keep me from having outbreaks, but about 5 months ago I stopped doing that and I still haven't had an outbreak. I think the large dosis of vitamin-c helped me build up some kind of immunity (does that sound crazy?)
I think the main reason why I don' t have outbreaks anymore is because I started telling myself that there's no such thing as herpes. Herpes is a state of mind, and the minute that I don't believe in it, it will go away.
It's worked so far. That's why I visit this message board every now and then to sperad the news about what's worked for me. Hope this helps and God bless!
