Sounds like Jock itch... if the rash goes away with anti fungal cream but watch out for reappearance .and have it checked if it reappears because if it is herpies it will reappear again sometime . some times usually under stress..and can only be diagnosed while in the active stage . for future sexual contact wear a condom all the time
: I am a 20 year old male and have only had unprotected sex once in my life, about 6 months ago and have not been with anyone since. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed some mild itching in my groin area. I soon developed a rash, similar to excema rashes which i have had on my arms before, but larger. The rash began on my upper right thigh, and about 2 weeks later i began to see it on my left inner thigh as well. I have some itching on ym scrotem, but no rash and the itching is dull and infrequent.
: Anyways, I spoke to a pharmacist about it who said it was probably just jock itch. Gave me some anti-fungal cream and i have been using it about 3 days. Itching seems to be going away, and it appears as if the rash is receding very slowly.
: I am nervous, still because reading online it sounds like herpes can manifest itself this way as well. Should I be tested or just be happy with the "it's just jock itch" solution.
: One reason I don't like to just accept this solution is i have never had jock itch or athlete's foot before. I have not been overly active this summer, although wearing pants to work i guess i do sweat. I always wear boxers, though, which is supposed to prevent jock itch. Sorry for the long post, i am just kinda frantic! ANy suggestions?
